Discussion evolution of design process
At first we did not really know how this was going to work, but then we thought about hair salons, and the blow dryers that they have. WE then ran with the idea to make the machine in the form of one of these blow dryers.
Product description
Our product will be a completely safe machine that will be able to cut your hair in just a few minutes. It is way more convenient than having to go to a barber shop, or even cutting your own hair, which would probably take 15-30 minutes.
quality products
Our product is our company’s moneymaker, and to achieve our goals, we will need to have a quality product. In this case, we are going to try our best to have a product manufactured by some of the best engineers in the business.
form and function
We want our product to look presentable. Therefore, we want it to be manufactured by some of the best engineers. The function of our product will set us apart from our competition because there is no product that does what our product will do.
marketing strategy
The goal of our sales and marketing strategies is to provide an explanation of our product and how it’ll be a futuristic machine that will benefit people. It’s a more convenient way of getting a haircut that wouldn’t involve two people to make time for each other. Instead, you only need the time of one person, with a machine that will always be there for you with the exception of an outlet. For our website, it will be targeted to males ranging through any age, who still contain hair on their scalp. Many tactics will be used to get our product flowing through the market like, banner ads on barbershop websites, advertisements through Google search, a website demonstrating the concept of the product, etc.
testing and evaluating
1a. To evaluate the success of our design work we would run safety test, measurement test, just to make sure that our product is functioning properly. We know that our machine is dangerous so we want to avoid tragedies.
1b. The test that engineers use to test for tensile strength, fatigue, and hardness are simply called tensile test, fatigue test, and the hardness tests are called rockwell hardness test. In the tensile test, material is pulled apart until failure. In fatigue test they test if the materials are durable, because they want to make sure their machine does not fail. In hardness test is done by apply force to material in a very small area.
1c. The product must be tested by looking at aesthetics because because the product must look good enough to buy. Ergonomics must be tested because the product must do well around others. Basically, all of these components are used in order to verify how the product would react around others.
1d. It shows the time and effort that we had put in the product to give it's function and quality that would attract customers.
2. The material we use would be razor to cut the hair, then we would place those razors inside the dome. The dome would look like half a sphere and would have buttons to turn the machine on, and it would be made of metal and rubber pieces.
3. Our product will look neat and would be safe. There will be various colors that you can choose from and will fit the eye of the beholder. It will be high tech so you must read directions to get used to the EZ CUTZ machine.
4. Our machine will be well tested and will work well with humans. At first it may seem a bit much but once you use it and read directions you will fall in love with this machine.
5. Our product will last a lifetime depending on how well you take care of it. If you throw it around constantly then it will break, but if you keep it safe and use it like how it's supposed to be used, it will last a lifetime. The product will cost $250 without tax, and the price is high but it will be more convenient in the long run because it will save the customer lots of money on haircuts.
